GOOD NEWS - RECENT WINS & ENCOURAGING HAPPENINGS
Great research by Laura Logan!
Here we go again, faced with a continuous stream of attacks that demand a response. These affronts are not only an attack on our people but on our nation as a whole, revealing where they are failing us: Migrants will not be held at Guantanamo Bay as Trump planned / Trump firing of head of independent watchdog group blocked (for now) / Musk faces big time pushback to his “5 things you did last week” email / Musk suffers massive fact check failure on Social Security fraud claims / Town hall meetings go poorly for Republicans across the nation as they are held accountable by their constituents / Top Republican strategist sounds the alarm. Top Republican strategist Tony Fabrizio is sounding the alarm about Republican vulnerabilities in upcoming elections next year / Trump receives pushback on blocking of AP from unlikely sources. Trump supporters Fox and Newsmax who seemingly exist to sing his praises and spread his lies, both have publicly come out in support of the AP and condemned Trump’s action / DOGE is blocked from accessing and sharing personal data from OPM and DOE / The Office of Special Counsel rules DOGE’s firing of 6 federal employees is not legal or enforceable / Surveys show consumer confidence in Trump’s economic plan has plummeted / Government technology workers resign in mass rather than help DOGE / Judge temporarily halts Trump/DOGE order for mass firing of federal employees
I know it’s a lot, and more chaos will surely be on the way, but there have been some important wins to appreciate. Let’s work together to keep that momentum going. Do what you can—make calls, attend rallies, and push for Town Hall meetings. Whether or not the Republicans in this state show up, we must insist on engaging with our communities and defending democracy. Their disregard for the people's voice cannot go unchallenged.
WHISPERED IN THE HALLS OF CONGRESS
Musings by Annette Holdeman
We are hearing this more and more, behind the scenes reporting of Democrat and Republican lawmakers, including their families, who are feeling terrified of crossing Trump and his loyal J6 MAGA army. This is EXACTLY what they want, they want us to be afraid and we must be determined not to take the bait!

In a sea of blue and yellow representing the colors of the Ukrainian flag, a rally was held on the streets of La Grange Sunday afternoon, March 2. At 3:00, folks gathered in support & solidarity for our United States ally, Ukraine, a free country that was invaded by Russia three years ago.
Up until a few days ago, the U.S. government supported our ally in their struggle against Russia. Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the elected President of Ukraine, met with President Trump to discuss continued support for the brave soldiers of Ukraine in their fight for freedom; however, Trump’s bullying side emerged with the help of our Vice President, J.D. Vance, who egged him on. The two bullies ganged up on Zelenskyy and berated his bravery and accused him of not being grateful enough for U.S. help. He tried to defend himself, but the bullies blamed him for the breakdown in communication, hence the Americans for Democracy rally.

Fayette County was represented by folks from La Grange, Round Top, Fayetteville, and Schulenburg. There were others from Bastrop, Burleson, and Colorado counties. A Ukrainian family from the town of Columbus participated. The rally lasted a little over an hour. As we waved flags and signs in support for Ukraine, cars honked and folks waved their support.
Afterwards, we gathered at a restaurant in La Grange for refreshments and time to visit and get to know the new folks.
After seeing the success of the March 2nd rally in LaGrange, we are committed to help organize Americans for Democracy Rallies in LaGrange every Sunday for the foreseeable future. If you'd like to take a public stand in LaGrange, let us know you're coming to the rally by signing-up here: https://mobilize.us/s/cmE6eP OR JUST SHOW UP!

What is “The Democratic Creed”?
By Karen Derr
Fayette County Democrat Lane Gosnay doesn't remember how she found out about the book Democrats 101: A Primer for Us, but after reading it, she went online and bought twenty copies to give to family and friends.
"It gave me the inspiration and the energy to fight. We don't have time to fight over these culture wars. We have a responsibility as Americans to protect our democracy first," Lane explains.
Shortly after her purchase, she got an email from the book's author, J. M. Purvis. He was curious about the large purchase from Texas, of all places. He invited her to attend an online meeting with Democratic Party county chairs from across fourteen states who have committed to The Democratic Creed, as described in Purvis's book. They now meet weekly and Purvis considers Lane the movements "Texas Captain." In early February, she attended a large rally in front of the Texas Capital and took to the megaphone to ask the attendees, which numbered at approximately a thousand, to commit to the six ideals of The Democratic Creed (Link to The Creed) https://www.dems101.org/the-creed. Please take note: The word “Democratic” in the Democratic Creed relates to the supporting of democracy and its principles, not to a specific party.

Born out of the ideals set out in Purvis's book, Democrats 101 Inc. is a 501(c)(4) non-profit corporation whose stated mission is to "unite the Democratic Party … then the majority of the American people … and doing it with a vision of our nation as a truly just society." The group's creed is based on Freedom, Justice and Opportunity for all. Their vision is "A just society...as long as it takes
If you'd like to publicly adopt The Democratic Creed or learn more about Democracy 101 Inc, visit Dems101.org. Remember, defending Democracy is not our goal it is our duty! WE are STRONG and WE are UNITED!
