Primary elections exist for one reason: to allow party members to choose the candidates who best reflect their values and priorities. Even though we do not have a Democrat on the ballot for a local seat, there are extremely important statewide races that affect us all in Texas — so the primary you choose matters.

It’s also critical to remember this: if you vote in the Republican primary, you are legally barred from voting in a Democratic primary runoff — a runoff where your vote could be decisive in ensuring a Democratic candidate advances to the General Election.
